Update

As it turns out, Victor went and bought a chopsaw because it is much safer to use. So some of the guys are out using it to cut rebar. However, it is sucking power from the house and causing power to flicker. We may be able to get a generator out here tomorrow to help out with that. Also, the rest of the group went ahead and went to the market. Aaron, we don't have any idea how many live at the dump....too many to count! The group that gathered together to hear our message was approximately 100.

All for now,
Teresa

  1. just so you know it is snowing the wind is blowing it is supposed to get down to 8 degrees with a wind chill of 1 below to 11 below tonight. You've got to blog us a picture of Mark's scar just so we know he is not faking it!!! Honestly though we are all praying that it is not a serious injury.

  2. It is good each day to read your blog as it makes us feel a part of us is right there with you. Lydia and Mia look forward to it too. As they said their prayers tonight, you were all in their prayers, even as they are missing their Mommy. They know you are all there trying to make a difference and share God's love.
As Ted commented about the cold and snow here, I'll comment about the old flu bug still hanging around. Steve wasn't out of the recliner all day and Jerry Cook is down too. So, it is our prayer that you all stay healthy and watch out for any more injuries. Mark, we pray you aren't in too much pain. Might you need some tequila? Just kidding.
Take care and give them God. Janet and Dayton

  3. We were sorry to read about Mark's injury. Does this mean he gets to sit under a tree and drink lemonade for rest of the week? (Or at least supervise??) I know we can't begin to know what you are experiencing this week. We will continue to keep all of you in our prayers. Please keep the posts and pictures coming...we look forward to reading about your day.

P.S.- Cory, please stay away from the saw :)

  4. Hi Everyone, It is so nice to be able to keep in touch with all of you. Please keep sending the daily notes as it is all so interesting. Teresa, can you take a picture from the upstairs window? I woudl love to see what the terrain is like? Do you eat all your meals with Victor, Julie and their family? How far away is the hotel? The boys are hoping for a delay tomorrow, but . . .

  5. We're Julie's parents, the proud grandparents of those nine beautiful Zaragoza children at Refuge Ranch. Thank you, UDC team, for giving your time, effort, abilities, blood (literally, right Mark?)sweat, and maybe some tears to follow God's call to spend a week working hard in Mexico. Thanks for taking the time to blog every day, Teresa. We look forward to the day's report and the great pictures. We pray that each of you will experience God's close presence in each detail of every day. We're praying for your healing, Mark, and for protection for all of you. Here in Temperance, Michigan, on Wednesday morning the temperature is 4 degrees Fahrenheit, that's minus 15 Centigrade. How cold is it? It's so cold that when our snowman saw the temperature, his eyes popped out!
Love and prayers to each of you!

  7. Hi Everyone, (but especially Emy!!) This email is written by Jean, but it is really from Dale. He spent a long time last night trying to write to all of you, but he was experiencing technical difficulties. :-) Dale wants Ryan and Mark to know that he has been to both of their farms with lp. He wants all of you to know that you are a great team, he is thinking of you and praying for you all throughout the day. But Dale especially wants Emy to know that he LOVES and misses her. :-)Blessings to you all!!!

Thinking and praying for you all!
